“Live a life that is well balanced; don’t do things in excess.” -Daniel Smith
I don’t think we really sit back and analyze the amount of time we spend on social media. I mean there are so many social sites now and each one serves a different purpose most of the time. Convenience is the selling point in today’s society. I mean picking up a book to learn is almost obsolete with Youtube being a click away. Instant gratification has become the new normal and no one is ever truly present and in the moment.
Special moments have become boomerang worthy and instastory ready and before you start thinking I’m some type of crazy person for not enjoying social media just as much as the next person. That’s not what I’m saying at all so keep reading. Simply put, I had reached a point where I needed to come up for air and just live in the moment.
I suddenly had a distaste for posting and engaging in other people’s lives online. I was overwhelmed with business and content creation and I just needed a moment. I signed out of every account and in that moment I felt a sigh of relief!
I only intended to take a couple of weeks off but it turned into a month and a half! I loved it and I would recommend any one to take a step back every so often to release some of the unwanted social info from your mind! It allows you to stay grounded and true to who you are.
