“If you have a strong purpose in life, you don’t have to be pushed. Your passion will drive you there.”
― Roy T. Bennett
I know I can’t be the only one guilty of attempting to make sure everything was perfect before “stepping out on faith”! Perfection and faith don’t belong in the same sentence. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things NOT seen! — With that being said, one of the lessons that I had to learn is that God does not require perfection. He only ask that you trust him and move in confidence.
When I think about the times I was most successful, it was when I didn’t have anything but an idea and the creativity to execute. So why do we pause before we jump into unknown territory? Is it fear? Is it comparison? I think that social media has indirectly influenced each of us in a way. The things that never crossed our mind before it existed now seem to subconsciously play in the back of our minds.
It’s better to fail forward than to stay stagnant and do nothing. Naturally, if you consistently work on anything with the intention to improve, you inevitably will. I started a sweets business a few years ago with only a few dollars. I didn’t have any customers, social media, a business name…NOTHING! My sweets looked terrible to me in the beginning, but once I put it out into the world people started spending their money with me. I stayed up all day and night for months practicing and working on my skill set and marketing. Eventually, I was sought out by celebrities, wealthy business executives, amazing mom’s and dad’s who trusted me with their family events etc…
I hope that this post encourages you to push yourself into greatness! Each of us was given a purpose to fulfill. Don’t stop pushing until you find it.
